Coconut Creek families have an easier commute to us than almost anyone in Broward County. Lyons Road runs north out of Coconut Creek and continues, essentially uninterrupted, into West Boca Raton, where our campus sits on Cobblestone Way. For families in Winston Park, Regency Lakes, Cocobay, Paloma Lakes, and the Township, it is a short and simple drive.

A school that takes the natural world seriously
Coconut Creek calls itself the Butterfly Capital of the World, and families here tend to raise children who spend real time outdoors. That fits our program well.
Our science and social studies curriculum runs through botany, geography, and the natural world, and it is not taught from a worksheet. We maintain a school garden where children plant, tend, grow produce, and conduct experiments. Three-year-olds who have watched a bean sprout from a seed they planted understand plant biology differently than three-year-olds who have seen a diagram of one. That is the whole logic of Montessori materials — concrete first, abstract second.
Accredited and certified
Royal Palm Montessori Academy holds Apple Accreditation through FACCM and is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families under license #50-51-00898. Our teachers are Montessori certified, and several have taught in these classrooms since the school opened. Our owner/director has led the school since 1999 and holds a BA from Harvard University, a master's degree from Nova Southeastern University, and Montessori certification.
Staff retention is one of the more meaningful things a preschool can offer, and it is hard to fake. Ask any school you tour how long their lead teachers have been on staff.
The five curriculum areas
Practical Life
pouring, buttoning, sweeping, preparing food. The foundation of the program. These activities build concentration, sequencing ability, and the fine-motor control that handwriting requires.
Sensorial
materials that isolate a single defining quality: color, weight, shape, texture, size, sound, smell. Children learn to perceive and name fine distinctions.
Language
letter shapes and sounds, handwriting preparation, vocabulary development, word-to-picture matching, and reading.
Mathematics
concrete materials before written symbols. Children handle physical quantities long before they work with numerals, which builds number sense that holds up under real arithmetic.
​Science and Social Studies
​botany, geography, and the natural world, reinforced daily in the garden.
Beyond the core: Spanish three times a week, art twice a week, weekly computer lab, physical education, and a moral character program covering kindness, responsibility, and citizenship. Optional extracurriculars are soccer through Soccer Shots, Kenpo Karate, and dance through Dynamite Dance Studio.
Small ratios in large rooms
Our student-to-teacher ratios are small and our classrooms are large. Montessori requires both. A child needs floor space to lay out a work mat and remain undisturbed, and teachers need availability to give individual and small-group lessons rather than managing a crowd. This is a structural feature of the school, not an upgrade.
VPK for Broward families
Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten program is administered at the state level. That means a Coconut Creek family can generally take a Certificate of Eligibility issued through their local early learning coalition and use it at a participating provider in Palm Beach County.
